AutoCad Design and Co-ordination
In-house design and co-ordination services utilise the latest 3D technologies
Kershaw Mechanical Services offers clients a complete M&E design, co-ordination and installation package, working in partnership with our own in-house design, external design consultants and CAD engineers.
Being an early adopter of BIM and recognising it as an increasingly important part of the global construction market, we took the step to have our BIM capability formally recognised by BSI (British Standards Institution).
In order to achieve formal recognition, we successfully completed the BIM level 2 for design and construction audit process, which examined our BIM processes, procedures and management system – ensuring we were compliant with PAS 1192-2:2013, BS 1192:2007 and BS 1192-4:2014.
Our qualified design and co-ordination engineers use the latest Autodesk Fabrication CADmep and AutoCAD software to produce project specific, fully co-ordinated M&E drawings. Clash detection enables potential issues to be identified and resolved prior to works commencing, saving the client both time and money. Full, 3D, M&E models are provided for BIM managed projects using Navisworks.
Once Kershaw Mechanical Services is awarded a contract, the design and CAD co-ordinators will partner with the structural and fire protection engineers to co-ordinate the building services within the building structure, working from the architects' drawings and regularly liaising with the client. When the works commence on site, the Project Manager will continue to work closely with Kershaw's design and co-ordination engineers to ensure a smooth installation of the building services.
Our team has a strong track record across both new build and refurbishment projects including schools and academies, major retail stores, sports centres and leisure facilities, listed university buildings, large-scale healthcare facilities, research laboratories and high-end offices.
