Pressroom :: KERSHAW GROUP SUPPORTS HOSPICES FOR 7TH YEAR

Kershaw Group’s support for children’s hospices totals £15,000
A well known construction company has supported an important children’s charity for the seventh year running – with another donation of £3,000.
It means that the Kershaw Group has now given a total of just under £15,000 to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, known as EACH.
The money will be used to help with the costs of running three hospices for children suffering from life threatening or limiting illnesses.
Office staff at the Kershaw Group raised the money with a number of charity events, including a giant raffle at its Christmas party.
Ian Greenstock is the sales director of Kershaw Group.
He said: “Every year we ask our staff which charity they want to support, and they always come back saying they want to continue to back EACH.
“To have raised so much for them over the years makes us all feel very proud. EACH does a very important job and we hope to continue to support them for years to come.”
Kershaw Group has its head office in Cambridge, and can track parts of its history back to 1887.
Local divisions include mechanical services company Kershaw Mechanical Services, and metal roofing and cladding firm T R Freeman.
The group is always heavily involved in the local community, especially as a shirt sponsor of Cambridge United.
One of its companies, Kershaw Mechanical Services, has been sponsoring the Cambridgeshire Football Association Premier Leagues for just under 20 years. Several of its staff play in the leagues, known locally as the “Kershaw Leagues”.
EACH has three hospices, in Cambridge, Norfolk, and Ipswich.
It relies on voluntary donations for 75 per cent of its funding each year – a staggering £5.5 million.
