Kershaw Group's support for childrens' hospices tops £11,500.
Kershaw Group is celebrating its sixth year of support for an important children’s charity with a new £3,000 donation.
The company has now raised a total of £11,500 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, also known as EACH.
And the money is used to help meet the huge costs of running three hospice services for children suffering from life threatening or limiting illnesses.
The 88 office employees of Kershaw raised the latest donation from raffles & donations at the companies Christmas dinner.
The money was handed over to the charity at the half time break of Saturday’s Cambridge United Game. Kershaw is also a significant sponsor of the football club.
The firm’s sales director Ian Greenstock said: “The work that EACH does is incredibly important.
“Kershaw Group is fully committed to helping that work continue, and we are delighted that this year's donation tops a total of £11,500 raised over the last few years.”
The group has its head office in Cambridge, and consists of a number of divisions.
They include mechanical services company Kershaw Mechanical Services, and metal roofing and cladding firm T R Freeman.
EACH has three hospices in Cambridge, Quidenham in Norfolk, and Ipswich.
It relies on voluntary donations for 80 per cent of its funding each year
– a staggering £4.9 million.
