M&E company helps to build the UK's most expensive new home
Mechanical & engineering company Kershaw Mechanical Services has helped to build a new property that has become the UK’s most expensive new home.
‘Palladio’ in Hampstead, North London, was sold recently to Israeli billionaire Lev Leviev, thought to be for a staggering £35 million.
That’s the most ever paid for a new house in the UK.
And the seven bedroomed mansion has a series of impressive features designed and installed by Kershaw Mechanical Services, based in Cambridge.
They include the ability to control a sophisticated heating and air conditioning system from anywhere in the world – including from a yacht in the middle of the ocean.
Ian Greenstock, sales director at Kershaw, said: “This was an unusual job for us. Kershaw Mechanical services normally installs alarms, heating and other mechanical systems for industrial buildings only.
“But this house was so big and unusual it needed special attention. The systems we put in are truly state of the art and stunning.
“We’re very proud of how high tech it is, and that our installation has helped break property records”.
The fully-automatic system designed by Kershaw allows the under floor heating in any part of the house to be individually set and maintained. It also delivers filtered fresh air to all of the rooms.
And the house’s water supply is pressure controlled, meaning every single shower and tap could be run at the same time without the pressure or temperature of the water being affected.
Other features in the house include an armour plated front door and a 65 inch plasma TV that rises from a unit in James Bond style.
Kershaw Mechanical Services is the lead company of the successful Kershaw Group, which employs 183 people and has its head office in Cambridge.
