Two Kershaw Group companies win £4.6m contracts for same project
Two companies within the Kershaw Group have won contracts to work on a major educational redevelopment in Cambridge.
Kershaw Mechanical Services and T R Freeman are doing £4.6 million of work at Cambridge Regional College.
The college is disposing of its city centre campus and redeveloping its Kings Hedges Road site, in a scheme costing £23 million.
Kershaw Mechanical Services will be designing and installing the mechanical and electrical services, and T R Freeman installing a Kalzip aluminium roof.
Ian Greenstock, sales director at Kershaw, said: “It’s great to see two of the companies within Kershaw Group individually win contracts for the same project.
Gary Webb, managing director of T R Freeman, added: “Both companies have a long heritage and excellent skill base, and these two wins prove our expertise.”
The college is moving to a single site as part of a programme to update its facilities.
It will be adding a new hair & beauty and catering block; a dedicated motor vehicle workshop; new reception area; and extending its existing sports centre.
The work is due to be completed by April next year.
Kershaw Group employs 183 people with a turnover of £36 million across three operating companies.
The group is a major sponsor of Cambridge United.
