Works Progressing Well at UCL Pool Street West

March 16 2021

Mechanical works are well underway for the Kershaw team at one of their latest projects – Pool Street West, which is one of two new developments on the University College London East Campus.

Awarded the project by main contractor VINCI Construction, the development consists of buildings that will house hi-tech laboratories and research space, student accommodation and designated areas for working with schools, charities and local groups. They will total more than 50,000 square metres and be home to 4,000 students and around 260 academic staff.

Kershaw is responsible for the complete Mechanical installation which includes water, heating & air conditioning, sanitary appliances, ventilation systems, fuel installations communication, security and control systems as well as testing and commissioning.

Having been on site since November 2020 Kershaw is now closing in on completing the mechanical services including, ductwork, LTHW, CHW and Public Health Services within the Undercroft and Trench and is now delivering the mechanical services on Level 01 within the podium teaching space, as well as the early works within the first few residential floors in both towers.

The project brings together much of the same team and expertise from both VINCI and Kershaw that worked together on the laboratory and office development in Granta Park, Cambridge, which was completed in 2019.

The project is set to be completed by April 2022.
