Kershaw to Help Deliver Development for Local Animal Charity

Kershaw is delighted to have been awarded the Mechanical and Electrical works for the brand-new state of the art cattery for Animal charity Wood Green at its Godmanchester headquarters.

The Cat Care and Rehabilitation centre, which will boost the quality of care for cats will be a key milestone for the 52 acre centre, which in the last year alone has taken in and cared for over 4200 animals.  

The Kershaw team have been awarded the project by main contractor Lindum and will be providing full mechanical and electrical services.

The new cattery will provide a state-of-the-art treatment and rehabilitation centre for the many cats intrusted into Wood Greens care” he continued “We will be providing both the mechanical and electrical services on this development and we are looking forward to working alongside Lindum in order to deliver this exciting addition to Wood Green’s services”

Mechanical services being provided by the team include Sanitaryware, above ground drainage, water services, air conditioning, ventilation services, BMS, and Heating services.

The electrical elements include main distribution lighting & lighting controls, small power, access controls, CCTV, audio systems, fire alarms, lightning protection and earthing and bonding. All services will be fully tested and commissioned prior to handover.

The charity rehoming centre in Godmanchester, which has remained operational throughout the pandemic, is one of the largest in Europe. They help a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, chickens and goats by providing shelter and specialist care including rehabilitation services.  For more information on Wood Green and how to support the charity, visit their website at
