Kershaw Staff Raise Funds for Local Charity

January 02 2020

Staff at Kershaw rounded off 2019 with their annual charity raffle – raising £1910 for local charity Petals – the baby loss counselling charity.

The funds raised were a combination of staff donations and entry into the Kershaw annual charity raffle. The raffle sees generous suppliers and contacts of Kershaw donate a range of prizes which are then raffled off.

The prizes up for grabs included enormous hampers, an HDMI television, various shopping vouchers, experience days and fitness equipment - to name but a few.

Petals (Pregnancy Expectations Trauma and Loss Society) provides a specialised counselling service at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, Queen Charlottes and St Mary’s Hospitals in London, the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, Ipswich Hospital, Colchester Hospital, West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds, and Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow.

Petals was set up as a charity in 2011 by a group of healthcare professionals working in maternity care, alongside women who had experienced first-hand the loss of a baby, or trauma during birth.

Peggy Burch, Contracts Office PA, who organises the charity fundraising for Kershaw said “We are extremely grateful to the organisations and individuals who helped to make the raffle a success. It is with their support and generosity we can raise these funds. She continued “Petals is a fantastic charity, offering much-needed services in the local community and we are delighted to be able to raise funds for such a worthy charity”.
