Kershaw Service and Maintenance Provide SFG30 Capability Standards to Clients

As building maintenance moves into unchartered territory, Kershaw Service and Maintenance Division have followed the guidance from the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) as to how buildings can be managed and maintained effectively. The team have successfully implemented the steps needed to meet the requirements of SFG30 and can offer the capability to apply it to their client’s buildings.

Even in periods of shut-down, building owners, landlords and tenants still need to make sure their property is correctly maintained. This is not only for security purposes but to ensure they remain compliant and their building is ready for reactivation.

The recently updated and relaunched SFG30 ‘Mothballing and Reactivation standard defines best practice for shutdown procedures and the eventual reactivation of the building. It takes users through a step-by-step process for maintaining critical services during this low occupancy period ready for rapid and full reactivation when business returns to normal.

The SFG30 guidance covers key elements such as keeping water systems safe and healthy, active and passive fire protection,  safe handling of refrigerant gases; electrical and gas service safety checks and ventilation hygiene.
