Kershaw Mechanical Services help Celebrate Major Milestone at Romford Leisure Centre Development

Cambridge based Kershaw Mechanical Services recently attended a “Topping Out” ceremony at Romford Leisure Centre, marking a major milestone in the projects construction.

Invited by the lead contractors Willmott Dixon, Kershaw Mechanical Services helped to celebrate by witnessing the completion of the highest point of the £25 million development.

The leisure centre which has been commissioned by Havering Council will include an ice rink, swimming pool and fitness suite and is due to be completed early next year.

The ceremonial “Topping out” saw Councillor Melvin Wallace, Cabinet Member for Culture and Customer Access at Havering Council, driving in the final two fixing screws in preparation for the welding of the final roof membrane sheet.

Kershaw Mechanical Services have been contracted to design and install full M&E building services comprising of gas fired boilers and a CHP unit, under floor heating, mechanical ventilation and multiple VRF systems. Distribution Supply & Extract Ductwork for the project has been manufactured by Kershaw’s in-house pre-fabrication workshop.  The electrical installation will include all power, lighting, data, fire alarms and security.
