Kershaw Mechanical Services get top marks for latest contract win

Kershaw Mechanical Services have recently been awarded the full Mechanical and Electrical building services installation on Charter School, East Dulwich.
The project, which will take place in two phases, will see the development of several new school buildings plus the refurbishment of an existing building on an old NHS site.
Phase one will see the provision of two new buildings, including a 5 storey teaching block to the north of the site and a 3 storey building, which will contain a dining hall, gymnasium, activity studio and changing facilities to the west of the site.
Appointed by lead contractors Kier Construction, the M&E elements to be installed by the Kershaw team include above ground drainage and internal rainwater systems, hot and cold domestic water systems as well as natural gas for the boilers and science labs. In addition, Kershaw will be providing a heating system comprising of a combination of radiators, under floor heating and radiant panels. A mixture of Mechanical and Natural ventilation systems will be installed throughout the buildings and a Trend building management system will be installed throughout. The electrical elements of the installation will include services such as lighting, power and security systems as well as a Photovoltaic system on the roof of both blocks.
The project is to be carried out to full BIM level 2.
The development marks a significant step in delivering a great new school for East Dulwich and the surrounding communities and phase one is due to be completed in September 2018.
