Kershaw Light the Way for Growth

February 03 2021

As 2021 gets underway, the team at Kershaw is gearing up to realise their ambitious growth plans and is delighted to expand their offerings by investing in their own, in house, electrical division.

Ian Greenstock, Kershaw Executive Chairman, reflects upon how the company is going from strength-to-strength and embracing the delivery of full in-house electrical services, alongside the mechanical offering.

“As an organisation, we have decided to invest in our electrical offering. We recognised the need to be able to expand services to give our clients peace-of-mind that they can deal directly with the Kershaw team.”

“Having expanded our geographical footprint, by opening an office in Oxford, we are excited to continue our growth plans. Over the past 15 months, we have invested in a full complement of electrical professionals to join our team – from electrical estimators, surveyors, project managers to site supervisors.”

Sitting alongside their other projects, as a direct result of the investment and quality of service the team can offer, Kershaw has secured several electrical services contracts with a value of over £8milion – These projects will be delivered as part of the full in-house mechanical and electrical services.

These full in-house M&E contracts cover a wide range of sectors, including Office and Laboratory refurbishments for the University in Cambridge, a large education project in Oxford, a new leisure centre in Great Yarmouth, research facilities in Stevenage and Cambridge, three academies in London, a custodial project in Bedfordshire and a project in the healthcare sector at a hospital in Cambridge.

Ian Greenstock continued “The progression to delivering in-house electrical services is the natural evolution from our existing service offering. It will enable us to fully support our clients, with professionally delivered, quality-driven service. By providing electrical services in-house, we will be able to offer our clients a complete one-stop mechanical and electrical service solution from design with in house pre-fabrication, ductwork manufacture, installation through to commissioning and handover complemented with full BSI PAS 1192 BIM accreditation.”

Kershaw is a leading M&E services contractor specialising in the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of industrial and commercial building services. With its headquarters in Cambridge since it was founded in 1954, it offers the complete M&E services package with full coordination of every aspect of the building services contract and enjoys an industry-wide reputation for the excellence of its service delivery.

The mechanical and electrical services are being overseen by Kershaw senior management team led by Kershaw Managing Director, Luke Ashton.
