Kershaw Group Scores with Local School

March 17 2016

As a long-time supporter of both grass roots and professional football in Cambridgeshire, the Kershaw Group was delighted to present Waterbeach Primary School with 46 football match tickets recently, for use with its own fund raising activities.

Kershaw has sponsored the Cambridgeshire County League, adults divisions, for over 25 years as well as previously sponsoring the away shirts of Cambridge United Football Club (CUFC) for a record breaking 10 years.

As part of its commitment to supporting, and being part of, the local community, the Kershaw Group has joined CUFC’s Partnership Company Scheme – which contributes to the Club’s Community Trust programme that has recently launched new projects across Cambridge city – supporting the key themes of Education, Health and Inclusion.  Members of the Scheme are given a number of match tickets by the Club which they can use for further charitable endeavours.

With Kershaw being based in Waterbeach, where it has felt very much at home since moving there in 2013 and co-locating its three companies together into one headquarters, it was a natural decision to gift the tickets to the local primary school.

Ian Greenstock, Sales and Estimating Director at Kershaw, visited Waterbeach Primary School to find out more about their activities and handed the tickets over to Miss Jane Green, the Head, who explained that the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) would be using the tickets to help raise funds for the school.  Miss Green said “The school has a selection of after-school clubs, one of which is football, so the tickets are going to be popular and the PTA will make sure they are put to good use.”
