Health & Safety
We operate a third-party approved, fully integrated BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health & Safety Management System. This provides us with the mechanism to measure, monitor and demonstrate our commitment to continual health and safety performance, along with a framework for setting, and reviewing, our health and safety objectives and targets.
Kershaw Mechanical Services' management team co-ordinates all activities on site between the company, the contractors and individuals to ensure that all statutory requirements are met. All employees receive appropriate and adequate training, and are competent to carry out their duties.
As a trusted contractor, we ensure that: safe systems of work, and a concern for the health and safety of themselves and others, are adopted by staff; that only the correct equipment, tools and personal protective equipment are used; and that work is carried out to the required standards with minimum risk.
It is our continuing aim to:
- promote and maintain a high level of safety
- minimise personal injury
- safe guard the health of our employees and other persons who may be affected by our activities
- promote a pro-active approach in the prevention of accidents, ill health and dangerous occurrences.
This is achieved by the identification of hazards, the elimination of foreseeable risk and the management of residual risk, by providing safe systems of work and by complying with all relevant current legislation.
